SOMATIC COUNSELLING

Neurodivergent Somatic Care & Resilience

Neurodivergent-friendly somatic care focuses entirely on the present moment, offering a grounded alternative to the Root and Branch Journey.

Together, we'll work on building your inner awareness (interoception), emotional literacy, and establishing reliable resourcing through somatic tools and nervous-system education. We'll experiment with various techniques in real-time, checking in often to see what resonates with your system and what does not.

This process is deeply collaborative and flexible, ensuring the work is always adapted to your specific needs, preferences, and goals. It is a warm, invitational space where you are free to explore.

✦

Why do it?

Somatic counselling helps you listen to your body’s signals while building self‑trust and emotional literacy. As your interoception (inner awareness) grows, you begin to notice what you feel sooner and with more clarity. This allows you to understand what your body and system need. With gentle regulation techniques, your window of tolerance can expand, so you’re less reactive and have more choice in how you respond. Over time, you may find yourself recovering from activated states more quickly, feeling more present in your daily life, and moving through the world with a steadier sense of felt safety.

Who Is IT For?

This space is helpful to most people. However, it can be especially helpful for Autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, aphantastics, and other neurodivergent individuals who find traditional healing and wellness practices exhausting or incomplete.

If you are self-aware but still feel trapped in physiological stress responses, somatic work offers a path to understanding your body and brain's unique language.

How Sessions Work

Sessions are collaborative and adaptable. We often integrate gentle breathwork, nervous system regulation education and techniques, and somatic awareness to ground your system. The specifics vary from person to person. You have full ownership of the pace, what we talk about and when, as well as choosing how deeply we dive into the body, or regulation tools. Additionally, any techniques I offer are only invitations. If you don't like it or it doesn't work for you, we'll leave it behind and try something else.

An Important note on resilience

Building nervous system resilience is not an act of willpower or a quest for a permanent, artificial calm.

But rather, it is the quiet art of expanding your capacity to hold whatever energy or emotion moves through you. For those of us whose internal landscapes often feel visceral and intense, somatic work offers a way to honour the body’s rhythm without being overtaken by it.

Every state your nervous system enters carries a purpose. We don't want to silence these responses. Instead, we aim for them to become more adaptable rather than stuck. We work toward a system that can meet the spark of activation or the deep rest of downregulation with equal presence and choice.

It is about learning that you can be stirred by life and still remain grounded, knowing you have the tools to find your way back to balance once the activating moment passes. Here, resilience means self-trust. It means feeling deeper, staying present and grounded, recovering quicker, and settling back to baseline.

This is an invitation to be curious about, inhabit, and work with your system exactly as it is, slowly expanding your window of safety until you feel the freedom and comfort to simply be.
